Motorcyclist found lying along dark road after crashing near Tri-Cities
A seriously injured motorcycle driver was found lying on the shoulder of a road south of Kennewick Saturday night, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Another motorist found the driver, who was unresponsive, and their damaged motorcycle about 11:25 p.m. They called 911 and stayed with the injured driver until deputies and Benton County Fire District 1 emergency responders arrived.
The crash was on Locust Grove Road near Nicoson Road, which is about two miles southwest of the Interstate 82 and Highway 395 interchange near the entrance to Kennewick, according to the sheriff’s office.
The motorcycle driver was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center and was in stable condition Sunday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver’s name was not released by the sheriff’s office.
Locust Grove Road was closed after emergency responders arrived, but reopened by dawn Sunday.
