This feeling is even worse on Thanksgiving, when your go-to grocery store might be closed.
Although several stores in Tri-Cities are shutting their doors on Thanksgiving Day, many are staying open for special holiday hours if you need to do some last-minute grocery shopping.
Here’s what is open and closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, across Benton and Franklin counties — from supermarkets and pharmacies to banks — as well as when stores reopen for Black Friday.

Which Tri-Cities grocery stores are closed on Thanksgiving?
Some stores will be completely closed on Thanksgiving Day, offering their employees the day off.
Costco Wholesale locations in Richland and Kennewick will be closed, according to the Costco website.
The stores reopen at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, with the first hour of Black Friday shopping reserved for executive members.
Local Walmart and Target locations will be closed for Thanksgiving as well, both reopening at 6 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, for Black Friday shoppers.
Grocery Outlet in Pasco is closed on Thanksgiving, according to staff, but other locations will be open.

Certain stores adust their hours or close early on Thanksgiving Day in Tri-Cities.
Grocery Outlet’s Richland location in Vintner Square will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, then reopen for regular hours at 7 a.m. on Friday.
The Kennewick Grocery Outlet at 1325 West 4th Ave. will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, then reopen for regular hours at 8 a.m. Friday.
Fred Meyer locations in Tri-Cities will close at 4 p.m. Thursday, although in-store pharmacies will be closed the entire day, according to the Fred Meyer website.
Local WinCo stores will close at 3 p.m. Thursday and reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, according to a companywide update.
All Yoke’s locations in Tri-Cities will open at 5 a.m. Thursday for Thanksgiving Day and close early at 3 p.m.
Hours will be back to normal on Black Friday, when stores will be open 5 a.m. to midnight, according to employees.
Which grocery stores in Tri-Cities are open Thanksgiving Day?
If you need to run to the store late Thanksgiving Day, your best bet is to head to the nearest Safeway.
All Safeway locations observe regular open hours every day except Christmas, from 5 a.m. to midnight, according to employees.
However, Safeway pharmacies will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, according to the store website.
Is the post office closed on Thanksgiving in Tri-Cities? DOL?
All government offices, including schools, post offices, public libraries and the Washington State Department of Licensing, will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving Day.
Only Priority Mail Express will be delivered by the U.S. Postal Service on the holiday.
