Trick or Treat + other Tri-Cities Halloween events in next 10 days

It’s time to start carving pumpkins and putting finishing touches on spooky — or cute — costumes.

Here are some trick or treat events and other Halloween fun and frights:

Thursday, Oct. 30

WSU Tri-Cities Trunk or Treat Consolidated Information Center parking lot on the WSU Tri-Cities campus, 2770 Crimson Way, Richland 5:30-7:30 p.m.

WSU students will decorate their cars and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters. Also, there will be face paint, a hair tinsel station, a haunted maze and drinks from Ground Support Coffee.

Friday, Oct. 31

Spooktacular Halloween Uptown Shopping Center, 1300 George Washington Way, Richland 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Green Room Tattoo Lounge is hosting Halloween festivities on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Visit vendors and enjoy food, trick-or-treating, ofrendas and activities.

Spooky Hall Pasco City Hall, 525 N 3rd Ave., Pasco 3-5 p.m.

Pasco will transform its City Hall into Spooky Hall on Halloween. Costumes and trick-or-treating are encouraged at the event. Use the entrance on Sylvester Street and Third Avenue to get started and get a map guiding you through the decorated halls.

Halloween Beer Release Weekend Wheat Head Brewing, 92308 Locust Grove Rd., Kennewick

There will be a costume party and food available from El Fat Cat Grill and Vieyra’s Mac N’ Cheese from 4-8 p.m. Oct. 31. The next day, Nov. 1, there will be a parking lot trunk-or-treat and two food trucks, The Pizza Box and Vieyra’s Mac N’ Cheese from noon-8 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 2

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration Einan’s at Hillcrest Pasco, 224 S. 24th Ave., Pasco 12-3 p.m.

The afternoon will include a service from 12-1 p.m. followed by activities, traditional food and cultural experiences. Refreshments include hot chocolate and sweet bread (pan de muerto).

There will be a screening of the Disney-Pixar movie “Coco.” Participants can write messages and bring a photo of their loved ones to place them on a community altar. There will also be a station to make an altar and a photo booth. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

Monday, Nov. 3

WSU Tri-Cities Día de los Muertos Celebration Student Union Building on the WSU Tri-Cities campus, 2770 Crimson Way, Richland, 5-7 p.m.

WSU Tri-Cities MOSAIC Center, Latinos Unidos, Dreamers Club and Ballet Folklórico Cielo de México are partnering with the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for this event. The community is invited to an evening of arts and crafts, live entertainment and food vendors, with activities available for all ages. Participants are also encouraged to bring photos and mementos to place on the community altar in remembrance of their loved ones.

Fall activities

There also are several pumpkin patches, corn mazes and other seasonal activities available.

  • Trick-or-treating will be at Middleton Farms’ Fall Festival on Halloween with a two-for-one ticket special. Middleton’s will celebrate Día de los Muertos Nov. 1. Hours are Wednesday and Thursday noon-6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday noon-7 p.m.
  • The Country Mercantile Fall Harvest Festival takes place through the end of the month, open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. New this year: mini golf and a rock climbing wall.
  • The pumpkin patch at Job’s Nursery is open through Halloween, Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wolfies Pumpkins in Benton City is open Friday from 12 to 7 p.m., weekends from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and weekdays by appointment.
  • Queensgate Gardens has a pumpkin patch and corn maze, plus additional attractions.
  • Field of Screams returns with an interactive zombie thrill ride called Outbreak, KarnEvil haunted attraction and the Reoccuring Nightmares maze.
