Update: Tri-Cities driver killed in collision with semi-truck on I-82

Washington State Patrol investigators are still trying to determine why a Kennewick driver slammed into the back of a semi-truck and trailer Monday afternoon. He died in the crash.

Grant A. Kerr, of Kennewick was heading north on Interstate 82 in a 2003 Honda Accord toward the Tri-Cities when he collided with the flatbed trailer traveling in front of him, said the WSP.

The crash happened about 3 p.m. about four miles south of the Tri-Cities.

Trooper Daniel Mosqueda told the Tri-City Herald there were no reports from other drivers that Kerr was driving erratically before the crash so it’s unclear what happened.

Kerr, 32, was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. He was an IBEW union worker.

The truck driver Juan A. Bermudez-Delacruz, 37, of Moses Lake., was not injured.
