Looking for a health care provider? New doctors join Tri-Cities area practices

New medical providers are accepting patients in the Tri-Cities and nearby communities.

They include a physiatrist, a pulmonologist, urologists, family medicine doctor, endocrinologist, surgeon, gastroenterologist and nurse practitioner pediatric care.

They are practicing in Kennewick, Benton City, Prosser and Hermiston, Ore.

Kennewick urologist

Dr. Joshua Spendlove, a urologist, has re-joined Trios Medical Group in Kennewick.

He treats patients for kidney and bladder stones, male and female incontinence, prostatitis, bladder, kidney, prostate, testicular and penile cancer, erectile dysfunction, hematuria, adrenal gland disorders, pelvic prolapse, elevated PSA, recurrent urinary tract infections and more.

“He fills a gap in urology at Trios, allowing patients to find the care they need closer to home,” said Emilia Keener, senior market director of Trios Medical Group.

Spendlove is board certified and studied at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where he completed a bachelor’s in microbiology. He attended medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb., followed by his residency in urology at the University of Colorado in Denver.

He is a fluent Spanish speaker.

Prosser urologist

Dr. Terry Milam, a urologist, has joined Prosser Memorial Health’s Prosser Urology Center.

He brings more than two decades of experience in urologic surgery, men’s health and minimally invasive procedures. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and trained in robotic-assisted procedures.

His specialties include the treatment of kidney stones, prostate conditions, bladder disorders, men’s health and urologic cancers. He provides a full range of surgical and nonsurgical services, including prostate surgery for urinary symptoms, bladder Botox and circumcision.

Milam completed his urology residency and general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, and he earned his doctor of medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Urological Association.

Benton City family medicine doctor

Dr. Candice Pollard, who specializes in geriatrics and family medicine, has joined Prosser Memorial Health at its Benton City Clinic.

Her practice focuses on chronic disease management for all ages and helping older adults maintain quality of life through preventative health care, memory care and fall prevention education. She also provides wellness exams, acute illness and injury care, joint injections and referrals to specialists.

She earned her doctor of medicine from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. She completed her family medicine residency at Trios Health in Kennewick, serving as chief resident, and completed a geriatric fellowship at the University of Washington.

Prosser endocrinologist

Dr. Sonia Afshari, a board-certified endocrinologist, has joined Prosser Memorial Health at its Prosser Specialty Clinic.

She has training in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism from Indiana University School of Medicine and is skilled in managing complex endocrine conditions.

She will provide care in diabetes management, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis and bone health, pituitary gland disorders, adrenal disorders, and cholesterol and metabolism management.

Prosser surgeon

Dr. Ashlea McManus has joined the Prosser General Surgery Center.

She brings a wealth of experience in general, breast, colorectal, endocrine and soft tissue surgery, as well as advanced training in robotic and minimally invasive procedures.

She treats a wide range of conditions, including hernias, gallbladder and appendix disease, anorectal conditions, colorectal and stomach issues, soft tissue tumors, endocrine and breast diseases, and more. She also performs port placements, peritoneal dialysis access procedures and screening colonoscopies.

Originally from British Columbia, McManus earned her bachelor’s in biology there from Simon Fraser University, followed by a doctor of medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados. She completed her general surgery residency at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she gained additional experience in trauma, breast surgery and minimally invasive techniques, including robotic-assisted procedures.

She is also a certified provider in fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery and fundamentals of endoscopic surgery and brings specialized expertise in both traditional and advanced surgical care.

She is a former Olympic-level athlete, having competed internationally as part of both the Canadian and British national wrestling teams.

Prosser pediatric care nurse practitioner

Danielle Crawford, a pediatric primary care nurse practitioner, has joined Prosser Memorial Health’s Prosser Clinic, providing care for children from infancy through adolescence.

She earned her master of science in nursing as a pediatric primary care nurse practitioner from Regis College in Weston, Mass. She holds a bachelor’s in nursing, Magna Cum Laude, from Washington State University Tri-Cities and a bachelor of science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she was also a Division I student-athlete and team captain for the women’s soccer program.

She joins the Prosser Clinic with hands-on experience at Kadlec Pasco Primary Care and the Columbia Basin Healthcare Association. She also served as a registered nurse at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, working in the Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit.

In Prosser, she will provide services that include pediatric primary care, well-child exams and treatment for colds and flu.

Hermiston physiatrist

Dr. Nathan Camp, a physiatrist, or physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor, has joined the Good Shepherd Health Care System’s physiatrists team at its orthopedics building at 1122 W Elm Ave., Hermiston, Ore.

Good Shepherd Physiatry is dedicated to restoring function and improving quality of life for patients 18 and older by addressing pain and physical disabilities affecting the musculoskeletal system.

Hermiston pulmonologist

Dr. Peter Hahn, a pulmonologist, critical care intensivist and sleep specialist, has joined Good Shepherd Pulmonology in Hermiston, Ore.

Hermiston gastroenterologist and hepatologist

Dr. Joyce Koh, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist, has joined Good Shepherd Health Care System to care for patients 18 and older.

“Her expertise in gastrointestinal and liver health is a much-needed specialty to bring to our region,” said Art Mathisen chief executive officer of Good Shepherd.

Koh completed her fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md., after completing her residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She earned her doctor of medicine in her home state from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.

She earned a bachelor degree magna cum laude in history and east Asian studies from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.

“I believe that genuine human connection leads to the best patient care and outcomes,” Koh said.

She is interested in the growing recognition of gut health’s overall contribution to good health and also is passionate about colon cancer screening and prevention, she said.
