Cancer doctor, spine surgeon join Tri-Cities area medical practices
Two doctors and an advanced registered nurse practitioner have joined practices in the greater Tri-Cities area.
They include a cancer and blood disorder doctor in Kennewick, a neurological spine surgeon for a newly established Spine Center in Prosser with an office in Walla Walla, and a practitioner with experience in gastroenterology in Prosser.
Dr. Nikolaos Myriounis, oncologist-hematologist
Dr. Nikolaos Myriounis, who is board certified in oncology, hematology and internal medicine, has joined Trios Health in Kennewick.
He specializes in all cancer diagnoses, gastrointestinal malignancies, blood and platelet disorders, and solid tumors.
He has a medical degree from the University of Athens and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Massachusetts, with further specialization in hematology and oncology as a fellow at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Tufts University, in Boston.
He is affiliated with the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Medical Association and American College of Physicians.

Dr. David Yam, neurological spine surgeon
Dr. David Yam, a neurological spine surgeon with more than 20 years of experience, will lead the newly established Spine Center at Prosser Memorial Health, with services also offered in Walla Walla.
The center will offer some services that area residents now must travel to Seattle or Portland to receive, according to Prosser Memorial Health.
Yam specializes in minimally invasive techniques, motion preservation surgery and complex spinal procedures.
His career includes private practice, academic neurosurgery, and leadership roles in neurosurgery. He has served on leadership councils for the spine, and participates in research and development of new technology aimed at delivering better outcomes with less risk.
He has also trained more than 500 surgeons in advanced techniques in spine surgery.
The Spine Center offers minimally invasive spine surgery for the treatment of many spine conditions, plus advanced procedures such as disc replacement for the neck and low back, surgery for lumbar disc herniation, spinal stenosis surgery, and cervical, lumbar, and sacroiliac fusion
The Spine Center also has expertise for scoliosis and deformity surgery.

Kailey Friesz, advanced registered nurse practitioner
Kailey Friesz, an advanced registered nurse practitioner has joined the Prosser Digestive Health Center.
She has experience in gastroenterology and emergency medicine, and brings a patient-centered approach to digestive health care. She previously worked in Kennewick.
She specializes in advanced assessment, including diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic recommendations.
Conditions she treats include acid reflux, swallowing problems, nausea and vomiting, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, diarrhea, constipation, gastrointestinal bleeding, anemia, elevated liver enzymes and fatty liver disease.
Friesz graduated with a 4.0 grade point average from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky with a master’s of science in nursing – family nurse practitioner. Her bachelor of science in nursing is from Washington State University,
