Tri-Cities motorcyclist injured in crash with Camaro on I-182 in Pasco

Washington State Patrol is investigating the cause of a crash in Pasco on Friday night that left a motorcycle driver hospitalized.

A Chevrolet Camaro and Kawasaki ZX1400 motorcycle were both headed east on Interstate 182 near the Highway 395 interchange when they collided a little before 9:30 p.m., according to WSP.

The driver of the motorcycle, Andrew R. Sandoval, 29, of Pasco was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where he was in satisfactory condition on Saturday.

The Camaro was driven by Leonardo A. Torres, 22, of Grandview, who was not hurt. Charges are pending against him, according to the WSP.

His car was totaled and the motorcycle was damaged, according to the police report.

Sandoval was wearing a helmet, and Torres was wearing a seat belt.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have been involved in the crash.
