A Kennewick woman killed in a wreck in icy conditions on Interstate 90 has been identified.

Alejandra Gomez Rodriguez, 23, was driving east on I-90 between Vantage and Kittitas just before 4 p.m. Thursday as snow blanketed the region, contributing to multiple wrecks.

Gomez Rodriguez’s 2006 Kia Rio left the roadway about 15 miles east of Kittitas city limits, according to the Washington State Patrol. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl in the vehicle, both from Seattle, were not injured.

All three were wearing their seatbelts.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Weather reports show snow in the area at the time of the wreck.

Around 3 p.m. Thursday one person was seriously injured in an 18-vehicle pile up on Interstate 82 between Kennewick and Umatilla. Several other people had minor injuries. Three semi trucks were involved in the wreck, according to Benton County Fire District 1.

On Interstate 84 near Multnomah Falls, a 100-vehicle pile up snarled travel.
