Update: 1st time parents welcome Tri-Cities 1st 2025 baby. ‘Excited and very happy’

The first new baby of the 2025 born at a Tri-Cities hospital arrived at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland at 8:06 a.m.

Trios Health in Kennewick welcomed its first baby on New Years day, another boy, at 1:15 p.m.

Levi, born at Kadlec weighing 7 pounds and 8 ounces, is the first child of Mitch and Lindsey Skerbeck of Richland.

“We are excited and very happy,” the new parents said in a statement released by Kadlec.

But they were a little surprised that their son was the first baby of of the new year born at the hospital, they said.

“Seems like they are usually born at 12:01 a.m.,” they said.

The Skerbeck’s received a gift donated by the Kadlec Auxiliary Gift Shop.

Kennewick hospital’s 1st baby

The first baby born at Trios was Cillian, the child of Cailyn and Richard, Trios announced. It did not release full names.

Cillian weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces and measured 20.5 inches.

He was born at the Trios Birth Center, where more than 4,241 babies have been born since the unit, formerly on the Auburn Street campus, moved to Trios Southridge Hospital in March 2022.

“We would like to thank everyone at Trios Health, including our nurses, Carly and Rachel, and Dr. Adam Smith,” said Cillian’s parents in a statement released by Trios Health.
