A 20-year-old motorcyclist died Monday night after hitting two semis on Interstate 82 near Prosser.

Wyatt D. Collins of Toppenish was riding his Triumph Street motorcycle east on the interstate about four miles east of Prosser when he began passing two semi trucks hauling trailers, according to a Washington State Patrol.

WSP investigators say he was passing unsafely.

Collins hit one of the trucks and then struck the second one about 8:15 p.m. He was thrown from the bike.

He was rushed to Prosser Memorial Hospital where he died.

The two truck drivers — Sukhdarshan S. Bassan, 48, of British Columbia, and Leandro J. Dominguez, 31, of White Swan — were not injured.
