Hanford firefighters share Christmas spirit with Tri-Cities foster kids
Bags of unwrapped presents covered the floor recently as members of the Local I-24 Hanford Firefighters union and their family members wrapped the Christmas gifts for their annual foster child adoption holiday event.
Union members donated $10,000 for the third year in a row and partnered with the Richland Target to purchase gifts for 100 Tri-Cities area foster kids.
The Target store donated supplies and provided private shopping hours for the union members to shop for the foster children, according to Hanford firefighter Martin Fitzhugh.
“This is such an amazing event and we are proud to be a part of our community, especially during the holiday season,” Fitzhugh wrote in an email.
