Kennewick hosts 9/11 memorial event for Tri-Citians to honor 22nd anniversary

Community members will gather Monday morning to remember those lost in the 9/11 terror attacks.

The city of Kennewick will host a memorial at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex, which is home to a piece of steel from the World Trade Center.

The 35-foot-tall, 6,000-pound steel column was recovered in a joint effort by the city and Lampson International along with the Ports of New York and New Jersey, according to a news release from the city.
