1 killed in crash in Franklin County. 2nd wreck submerges car in canal

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies were investigating a fatal car crash Saturday morning. And Friday night they were called to check on a car driven into a canal.

The car crash that ended in a death was on North Glade Road just south of West Klamath Road about 20 miles north of Pasco near Basin City.

North Glade was closed for a time, but reopened about 7 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

No further information on what happened was immediately available Saturday.

Friday night, deputies were called to an irrigation canal along East Sagemoor Road when the driver had a medical problem and drove his car into the water.

The man made it out of the submerged car and received medical treatment.

Columbia Basin Dive Rescue divers helped get the car out of the canal, according to the sheriff’s office.
