2 Tri-Cities residents injured in motorcycle vs SUV crash on Easter

Two Tri-Cities men were injured on Easter Sunday evening, one of them driving a motorcycle that crashed into an SUV in Richland.

Jeffrey D. McDaniel, 31, of Kennewick, was driving a motorcycle on an eastbound Bypass Highway lane at about 5:45 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

A Toyota Rav4 was being driven the other direction on Highway 240 by Daniel J. Ayers, 38, of Richland, and was turning left onto Duportail Street near the bridge over the Yakima River.

McDaniel failed to yield the right of way and struck the SUV, according to WSP.

Both men were taken by ambulance to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, but information on them was not available Monday.

McDaniel could be charged with second degree negligent driving, according to WSP. It has not been determined if drugs or alcohol were involved.
