The man behind a long-familiar voice in the Tri-Cities is in need of some help.

For decades Chuck Hall was heard on Tri-Cities, Wash., radio stations, including 95.7, 94.9 The Wolf and 102.7 KORD.

In his spare time as an emcee for fundraisers and other community events, including the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo demolition derby and the Lind Combine Derby.

But for the past year he has been struggling with a rare plasma cell disease that has left him, a man who doesn’t like to sit still, unable to work or to walk, said his friend Adam Lamberd.

Lamberd is raising money for Hall on GoFundMe to help with his care and other expenses as his wife, Gayle, has left her job as a paraeducator to provide care for him.

Money raised also may be used to help with the costs of a wheelchair ramp being installed at his Benton City home by Catholic Family Charities.

As of Monday the GoFundMe account had raised nearly $15,000 toward a $20,000 goal.

“Chuck is a much-beloved community member and anyone that worked with him knew he was one of the best co-workers ever,” Lamberd posted on GoFundMe. “He was a team player, always the first person to lend a hand and the absolute last person to ask for it.”

Hall raised money for Rascal Rodeo, Tri-Cities hospitals and law enforcement foundations and did radiothons for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Tri-Cities area residents also saw him on Ranch & Home TV commercials.

Most recently Hall had been working a nonradio job, doing sales and estimating for Pavement Surface Control of Kennewick.

“Chuck provided the Tri-Cities and surrounding communities with decades of entertainment and love,” Lamberd said on GoFundMe. “It’s time we show him and Gayle and their family the same.”

Go to GoFundMe.com and search for “Chuck Hall” to donate.
