Local 598 union member Melissa Cannon joins more than 600 volunteers at the 13th annual Bikes for Tikes bike build event at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick. Volunteers assembled 1,600 bicycles in about four hours that will be distributed to children in need throughout the Mid-Columbia region during the holiday season. The organization was founded in 2009 by the Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 598 and through this year have donated more than 18,500 bicycles. A safety helmet is also included with each bike.
