First girders placed for $36M Pasco overpass

Large cranes and construction workers place the first set of girders on a concrete support column at the site of the $36 million Lewis Street overpass being built to replace the 1937 underpass in Pasco.

The new road will go over the BNSF tracks near Oregon Avenue.

The project, which includes one lane in each direction, lighting, bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides, is expected to be done by fall 2023.

Placement of all the girders is expected to continue for the next four weeks.
