High-angle rescue training on Pasco radio tower

Pasco firefighters Josh Wilson, left, and Tyler Easton work together Wednesday about 80 feet above the ground practicing rescuing a mannequin, nicknamed Rescue Randy, dangling from a radio transmission tower in west Pasco.

The exercise was part of a regional training session involving about 30 first responders from Benton County Fire District 1, Pasco, Kennewick and Richland fire departments.

Power to the high-voltage radio transmission towers, used to broadcast KALE 960AM radio station, was turned off during the training.
