Richland offers first look at final plans for huge new park at Badger Mountain South

The city of Richland is ready to give the public a look at plans for a new 30-acre park with sports courts and fields, a zip line, splash pads and more.

Last winter 2021, the city of Richland collected feedback from community members for the draft of the new West Village Community Park, set to be in the Badger Mountain South area in Richland.

The survey was open for a month and had 306 responses, according to a city news release. Now, the final draft is ready for public review.

A special Parks and Recreation meeting is at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the Richland City Council Chambers at City Hall, and comments about the proposal will be accepted.

The Parks and Recreation Commission will review and discuss the community feedback before voting on a final recommendation for the city council approval July 5, according to the Richland Parks and Public Facilities website.

The proposed plan is set to go forward in late fall this year. The Badger Mountain South Fire Station also will be near the park.
