Work starts to replace 45-year-old Kennewick fire station

The new 21,000-square-foot, two-story facility is being built on 2.4 acres on the 300 block of West 10th Avenue.

The new $12.7 million project is replacing the current station that opened in 1977 and is being funded through council bonds.

It will include administrative offices and is expected to take 12 month to complete.
