An electrical malfunction is being blamed for a fire reported at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco about 4:20 p.m. Friday.

Smoke was seen at a second-story window on the north side of the hospital, according to initial reports.

Alarms continued to sound because of the smoke 30 minutes after the fire was reported.

The fire was contained to an administrative area and no one was hurt, said Joanie White-Wagoner, the hospital’s chief executive.

The hospital building has a fire blocking system between wings to help contain any fire, firefighters at the scene were reporting.
