Bike the Sacajawea trail in Tri-Cities with national park rangers during spring break

A family friendly bike ride along the Sacajawea Heritage Trail in Richland is planned Saturday, April 9, by the Manhattan Project National Historical Park’s Washington branch.

Participants will join rangers from the National Park Service and staff of the Reach museum in Richland for an eight-mile round trip ride from Columbia Point Marina Park on Columbia Point Drive to the museum.

Check-in for the “Ride with a Ranger” starts at 8:30 a.m. and the ride starts at 9 a.m.

There will be two stops along the route for presentations and then time at the museum for hands-on activities and to walk the Energy Northwest Animal Trail.

The event, held in cooperation with Bike Tri-Cities and Wheelhouse Bike Shop, is free, with museum admission paid for by Bike Tri-Cities.

Registration is required by Friday April 8. Go to biketricities.org. No walk-ups the morning of the ride will be allowed.
