2 Tri-Cities children hurt in I-90 crash. WSP says DUI a possible factor
Two Tri-Cities children were taken to a hospital Sunday morning after a suspected DUI crash and one of the two adults in the crash was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Leticia R. Lopez, 21, of Kennewick, was taking the Interstate 82 ramp onto westbound Interstate 90 in Kittitas County, Wash., about 7 a.m. Sunday.
She missed a curve with the Honda Passport she was driving, and the SUV left the roadway to the right, according to the Washington State Patrol.
It rolled through a Washington state Department of Transportation fence and landed in a field, WSP said.
A 2-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy in the car, both from Kennewick, were taken to Kittitas Valley Healthcare in Ellensburg.
The boy was not wearing a seat belt, but the girl was secured, according to WSP reports.
Lopez, who was wearing a seat belt, also was taken to the Ellensburg hospital.
The other adult in the car, Donavon J. Bradley, 21, of Kennewick, was taken initially to the Ellensburg hospital and then flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
He was not wearing a seat belt, according to WSP reports.
The cause of the crash, including whether drugs and alcohol were involved, remains under investigation, according to WSP reports.
