What’s the luckiest store for buying WA lottery tickets in Tri-Cities?

Some people have lucky numbers or wear their lucky socks when buying a lottery ticket.

Others have a store they swear by.

The Washington Lottery is spilling the beans about which store really is the luckiest in the Tri-Cities.

The Washington Lottery announced its Luckiest Retailers of 2021 in the Tri-Cities on Wednesday. The list are the retailers that sold the most prizes valued at $1,000 or more last year.

And the winner is

Yoke’s Fresh Market in Pasco, 4905 N Road 68, took the top spot with 12 wins.

Only 11 other retailers in the state sold 12 or more winning tickets worth $1,000 or more. It marks the second year in a row that the Pasco Yoke’s has sold the most winning tickets of $1,000 or more. In 2020 they sold seven.

Next on the list is another Yoke’s, this one in West Richland.

The store at 1401 Bombing Range Rd bagged six wins. They were tied for second place in 2020 with 5 wins.

In third place are several stores that each selling four winning tickets.

Kennewick — Fred Meyer, 2811 W. 10th Ave. They tied for fourth place in 2020 with four.

Richland — One Stop Mart, 1903 Jadwin Ave. They also tied for fourth place in 2020.

Richland — Maverik, 3520 Keene Rd.

Pasco — Circle K, 4823 Broadmoor Blvd. They tied for eighth place in 2020 with 3 wins.

Kennewick — Maverik, 4306 W. Clearwater Ave.

Rounding out the top 10 are three stores that each sold three winning tickets worth $1,000 or more.

Pasco — Sunrise Food Mart, 620 N 28th Ave.

Kennewick — Ron’s Food Mart, 1821 S. Washington St.

Pasco — Circle K, 4805 N.. Road 68

Washington’s Lottery recognizes its Luckiest Retailers by dividing the state into seven regions: North Puget Sound, South Puget Sound, Olympic Peninsula, Eastern Washington, Southwest Washington, Tri-Cities and Central Washington.

Yoke’s also took four of the top spots in the Eastern region, which is the Spokane area.

Across the state, Safeway and Fred Meyer locations were tied with 18 locations in the top 10 each, representing more than half of the top 70 retailers in the state.

Washington Lottery

Washington’s Lottery helps fund state programs, including providing funds for the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account. Since 1982 the state lottery has generated more than $4.5 billion for state programs.

In the 2021 fiscal year, WOPA received $185.7 million from the Lottery, enough to pay college tuition for more than 18,000 Washington residents.

It also provided approximately 25% of the annual budget for the state’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program.
