Thousands ready for return of Tri-Cities Home & Garden Show. What to expect this year
With a line out the door Friday morning, the Tri-Cities Regional Home and Garden show was off to a strong start after its cancellation last year.
More than 5,000 people are expected to turn out for the event, which showcases everything from construction to landscaping to interior decorating and everything in between.
Jeff Losey, Executive Director of the Home Builders Association of the Tri-Cities, said in a news release that more than 150 vendors are on hand for this year’s event.
“It’s great to be able to host this event again,” Losey said. “People are ready to get back out into the world and we’re glad to be able to offer a safe venue for them to do so.”
In addition to vendors and showcases, educational seminars will take place throughout the weekend, for free with admission. Attendees can find a seminar schedule at HBATC.com.
“Everyone has been spending more time at home over the past couple of years. That time has given them perspective on what projects and features are most important for them to have in their homes,” Losey said. “This is an amazing opportunity to research products, projects and services across the home improvement and building spectrum all in a single location.”
The show runs through Sunday at the HAPO Center in Pasco. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults, and anyone bringing a non-perishable donation for the Salvation Army food pantry will receive a $1 discount. Children 12 and under get in free.
There won’t be a Kids Zone at this year’s event due to pandemic safety precautions, but free toy hard hats will be available for children who attend. Big Top the Clown will also be making free balloon animals for children on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Attendees can get a return stamp to come back throughout the weekend.
