5 hurt in early rollover on highway ramp in Pasco. 2 were not wearing seat belts
Five people were injured early Saturday morning when a car rolled as it was about to get onto Interstate 182 in Pasco.
Two passengers were not wearing seat belts.
Jose Munoz Lazo, 24, of Kennewick, was driving a Subaru Forester north on Highway 395 at 2 a.m. and exited to the ramp to westbound I-182, according to the Washington State Patrol.
He lost control and the car rolled, landing on its top. WSP investigators say drugs or alcohol were involved and DUI charges are pending.
Two of his passengers — Graciela Herrera-Arteaga, 25, of Kennewick, and Deive Mendoza, 28, of Wapato — were taken by ambulance to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
Neither was wearing seat belts, said the WSP.
Lazo and two other passengers — Homero Gonzalez, 31, of Wenatchee, and Yesica Nava Garcia, 24, of Kennewick — were taken to Trios Health in Kennewick. The three were wearing seat belts.
No information was immediately available Saturday afternoon on their conditions.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
