Memorial glows for young Kennewick driver

A small memorial in the snow marks the spot of a deadly crash Monday night that killed a 25-year-old Kennewick driver. Angel Mendoza was driving south on South Ely Street when he lost control of his 2021 Mercedes Benz about 7:15 p.m. near West 31st Avenue and hit a Jeep Wrangler. Mendoza died and two people in the SUV were injured. Kennewick police say while it’s an ongoing investigation, speed was a “significant factor” in the crash.
