Travel guru Rick Steves to speak to Tri-Cities audience about Europe after COVID
One of America’s leading travel experts will speak with a Tri-City audience next month on how the COVID pandemic will change visiting Europe.
The Columbia Basin Badger Club is offering an online presentation with travel guru Rick Steves during its noon meeting Jan. 20.
He has a best-selling guidebook series, a popular public TV program, a weekly public radio show and a syndicated travel column. He formed his business, Rick Steves’ Europe, in Edmonds, Wash. in 1976.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives in many ways, but not the least of which is the way it has impacted our ability to enjoy foreign travel,” the Columbia Basin Badger Club said.
“As conditions begin to return to normal, Steves says that the future of travel — like many other things — is likely to look different.”
One example is that old guidebooks may be outdated because businesses have shut down.
Sign up for the presentation through the club’s website, columbasinbadgers.com. The event is free for members and is $5 for others.
