A West Richland family’s home was destroyed in an early morning blaze over the weekend.

Firefighters from several Tri-Cities agencies responded to the two-alarm fire, which started about 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Crews were at the scene, at Arlington Drive and North 46th Avenue, for about 6 1/2 hours battling the flames and trying to get the fire under control.

According to comments made on social media by the family, no one was home at the time.

They reportedly lost all of their clothes, food and personal belongings, including a wallet and cellphone, in the fire that hit one week before Christmas.

The American Red Cross has reached out to the family to help.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
