UPDATE: Coroner identifies man found dead near railroad tracks south of Tri-Cities
The man found dead Tuesday near the Washington-Oregon border was a 37-year-old homeless man.
Theodore Williams’ body was discovered in the area of Interstate 82 and Highway 14 in Washington state, just north of the Columbia River, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
He was near some railroad tracks and may have fallen from train, though it’s not clear how or when it happened, said Benton County Coroner Bill Leach. He’s ruling his death an accident.
Williams has family living in northern Oregon on the other side of the river from where he died, said Leach.
Anyone with information on his death, is asked to contact the sheriff’s office and ask for Detective Tomren at 509-735-6555 or the dispatch center at 509-628-0333.
