Crews mark Columbia River to help drive-in air show pilots

Volunteers from the Tri-Cities Water Follies rescue team work together Thursday morning building an “air box” on the surface of the Columbia River using foam marker buoys near the Franklin County shoreline.

Volunteers were busy with preparations on both sides of the river for the three-day HAPO Over The River Drive-In Air Show, which runs Friday through Sunday.

The “air box” markings, located on both the water and land, help pilots during their performances.

Air show ticket packages and coronavirus event guidelines are available online at: www.waterfollies.com.
