#SaveOurChildren rallies in Tri-Cities fighting human trafficking

Two sisters are leading a local movement to raise awareness against human trafficking and pedophilia.

Evalena and Ryza Montejano plan to hold a third #SaveOurChildren march on Sept. 19 starting at the Boys and Girls Club in Pasco.

The two women brought the nationwide movement to the Tri-Cities after Ryza talked with a friend in California who was organizing the protest.

The sisters each had personal experiences where they were exploited as children.

“We didn’t have a voice at the time,” Evalena said. “We want people to know about the resources and the things happening in our community.”

A similar march last Saturday in Columbia Park drew about 200 people.
