Benton Franklin livestock auction is this Friday. Here’s how you can bid

While, this week would have been the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo had the COVID pandemic not forced its cancellation — the Benton Franklin Market Stock Auction will go on at the Benton County Fairgrounds on Friday.

The auction start at 9 a.m. Aug. 28 with the preview at 8 a.m. The sale format has been altered to accommodate safety guidelines including:

  • Only staff, volunteers and registered buyers are allowed in the sale and livestock barns — no exhibitors or parents.
  • Masks must be worn.
  • Animals will not be going through the sale ring, although exhibitors may choose to be in the ring while a photo of the animal is shown.

Interested parties can register online to be a buyer on site or to bid via proxy bidder by calling 509-212-9897 or emailing lori@bentonfranklinfair.com after completing buyer registration.

The public may also donate a flat amount to a specific youth by signing up for an add-on to an exhibitor’s sale price or make a donation to the Youth Livestock Booster Fund where funds are pooled and used to raise up the prices of the lower selling animals.
