Update: Oregon man dies when onion truck and pickup collided in rural Benton County

A 32-year-old Oregon man is dead after his Chevy pickup collided Thursday with a semi-truck hauling onions near Plymouth in southern Benton County.

Benton County sheriff’s deputies are continuing to investigate the 5:30 a.m. crash on Plymouth Road, about two miles from Highway 14 along the Columbia River near Oregon, according to police reports.

The driver of the pickup, Roberto Flores, died at the scene. The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries, said Benton County Sgt. Justin Gerry.

The intersection of Plymouth Road and 1809 PR remained closed for several hours during the investigation.
