Pop-up drive-in movies coming to Tri-Cities and Prosser. Even on Saturday mornings

Tri-Cities Carpool Cinema kick offs Friday, Aug. 21, with a showing under the stars of the Addams Family in Pasco.

Nine drive-in movies are set on three weekends, with Kennewick, Richland and Pasco taking turns showing movies Friday and Saturday nights and Saturday mornings.

Scheduled movies will range from animated features for kids to PG-13 movies planned for “date nights.”

Cost for movies in the Tri-Cities is $15 per carload, with no trailers or RVs admitted. Each carload will be given a bag of popcorn, but should bring any other snacks or drinks they want.

Only members of the same household should be in each car. Limited restroom capacity will be available.

Movies will be shown on an 11-foot-by-19-foot LED board with sound transmitted to car radios.

Pasco

The Addams Family, 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21. Rated PG.

The Secret Life of Pets 2, 9 a.m. Saturday Aug. 22. Rated PG.

Field of Dreams, 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22. Rated PG.

Movies will be in the Tri-City Youth Soccer Association Parking Lot, 6160 Burden Blvd.

Kennewick

Playing With Fire, 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28. Rated PG.

Abominable, 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Rated PG.

Yesterday, 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Rated PG-13.

Movies will be at Columbia Park on Columbia Park Trail to the east of the Reach museum.

Richland

Remember the Titans, Friday, Sept. 11, 8:30 p.m. Rated PG

Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Saturday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m. Rated PG.

Jumanji: The Next Level, Saturday, Sept. 12, 8:30 p.m. Rated PG-13.

Movies will be at the Columbia Point Marina Parking Lot, 660 Columbia Point Drive.

Prosser

The Princess Theatre in Prosser will also has organized drive-in movies as a fundraiser at the FruitSmart parking lot, 506 6th St., Prosser.

National Treasure will be shown at dusk Aug. 15. Gates open at 7:30 p.m.

Cost is $15 per car and no concessions will be available this week.

Guests are required to sit inside their vehicles. Only household members may share a vehicle and people must wear a mask when leaving cars to visit the restroom.
