Ballots due Tuesday. Drop off sites in Benton, Franklin counties

The safest bet to return primary ballots by the Tuesday, Aug. 4, deadline is to drop them off in person.

Any mailed ballots must be postmarked by Aug. 4 for votes to be counted, and Tri-Cities mail may not be postmarked until it is sent to Spokane for processing.

Ballots can be deposited in election drop boxes until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Drop-off location information was included with ballots.

Registration by mail and online has closed, but you can register in-person until the polls close.

In Franklin County go to the Auditor’s Office in the courthouse. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. election day.

In Benton County go to the temporary voting center at the former Chuck E. Cheese at 2610 N. Columbia Center Blvd. in Richland. You can also go to the courthouse at 620 Market St., Prosser. Both are open 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. election day.
