A 29-year-old Sunnyside man died Tuesday as he operated a tractor and a mower in a Benton City orchard, according to the Benton County Coroner’s Office.

The man has been identified as Carlos Guerrero-Pachuca, said Coroner Bill Leach.

Guerrero-Pachuca was driving a tractor that was pulling a mower in an orchard near Orcutt Road and Kelly Road outside of Benton City.

His co-workers found him dead around 6 p.m. in one of the blueberry rows, according to investigators.

Leach said it appears he died from a head injury.

Benton County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death to determine how Guerrero-Pachuca hit his head.
