Wife of Pasco police officer seriously hurt in Idaho ATV accident. Fundraiser started
A medical worker and wife of a well-known Pasco police officer was seriously injured in an ATV accident in Idaho over the weekend.
The family of Alex Michel, an area resource police officer in Pasco, were vacationing in McCall, Idaho, this weekend, when the ATV that Mirza Michel was riding rolled.
Her right arm was crushed in the crash and needed to be partially amputated, according to Pasco police and a GoFundMe online fundraiser for the family.
She was taken to a Boise hospital by life flight, where she had surgery and was scheduled to have a second surgery Monday.
Funds are being raised to help with medical expenses and the family’s expenses for food and lodging as Alex Michel and his two children stay in Idaho to be with her.
Both Alex Michel and Mirza Michel, an ultrasound tech, are expected to be off work for some time.
“Any help would be appreciated as Mirza and Alex have spent their careers serving others,” the fundraising post said.
More than $10,000 of the $20,000 fundraising goal had been raised by Monday.
