People escape as raging fire destroys West Richland home Saturday

People inside of a Ranch Road home in West Richland escaped just before a Saturday morning fire destroyed their home.

Benton County Fire District 4 firefighters were called to 66605 E. Ranch Road near Canal Drive at 5:40 a.m. after a fire broke out. Crews found the home was engulfed in flames.

The people inside were able to get outside ahead of the fire, said the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators have not determined what started the blaze.
