2 hospitalized after late-night fire damages Kennewick apartment building

Two people went to the hospital after a fire in a Clearwater Avenue apartment complex late Thursday.

Kennewick firefighters found smoke and flames pouring from a first-floor apartment in the A building at the Clearwater Bay Apartments shortly before 10:45 p.m.

People inside escaped the blaze, but one person was rushed to Trios Southridge Hospital with smoke and fire injuries, said Kennewick police.

There was a report that another person was taken to the hospital with a medical condition.

It’s unclear what caused the fire and how many people could not return to their apartments.
