Free food giveaways around Tri-Cities this week

Free food boxes are being given away at several evens this week at multiple locations throughout the Tri-Cities.

Transit Centers

Ben Frankin Transit will be distributing 300 boxes Wednesday at several transit centers.

The boxes will be given away starting at 11 a.m. and are provided through Second Harvest Tri-Cities. They will have handles, but riders are encouraged to bring something to make the boxes easier to handle.

Face coverings are required on all BFT vehicles as well as at the transit centers. Each box will contain a pouch of reusable face coverings during the Wednesday event.

Riders can take the bus or BFT Connect for free to the following donation sites:

Three Rivers Transit Center in Kennewick

22nd Avenue Transit Center in Pasco

Knight Street Transit Center in Richland

For more information about the transit, call 509-735-5100 or go to bft.org. For more information about BFT Connect, call 509-204-4189 or go to bft.org/services/connect.
