Kennewick driver killed when his logging truck flips in Idaho
A Kennewick truck driver was killed in a crash in the Idaho panhandle on Tuesday morning.
Troy D. Armstrong, 54, was driving a Kenworth truck loaded with logs north on Highway 95 just before 11 a.m., said Idaho State Police.
The truck left the roadway, drove into a ditch and struck a power pole. The truck then flipped, scattering logs across the highway about 25 miles north of Sandpoint, said investigators.
The truck continued up the embankment coming to rest on the driver’s side.
Armstrong was wearing a seatbelt but he died from his injuries.
The highway was partially blocked for several hours while crews worked to remove the logs.
