Black Lives Matter holding poetry event at Columbia Park and online

A Black Lives Matter group plans a poetry event in Columbia Park in Kennewick on Saturday, June 27.

The event being organized by Unbound — Tri-Cities is expected to be streamed online but anyone who wants to participate can also come to the park from 6 to 9 p.m., according to a Facebook post.

They are asking everyone attending the event to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

“This event is for everyone who has a voice and wants a safe place to express your feelings and emotions without shame,” said the organizers. “A time to embrace your uniqueness and let it shine.”
