Benton Franklin Humane Society needs donations to help sheltered animals
After a long closure during Washington’s stay home orders, Benton Franklin Humane Society is seeking financial help.
The group is joining the nationwide fundraising movement #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, May 5, to raise money to care for animals and get them adopted.
The group says that while the facility has been closed to the public and volunteers, 60 animals have been receiving care from staff members and financial donations still are needed.
They are also looking for donations of wet and dry cat and dog food, nylon dog chews and treats and other supplies.
The shelter has been closed to the public since late March when Gov. Jay Inslee’s stay-at-home order went into effect.
To donate, go to www.bfhs.com and click on the “Giving Tuesday” link. People can also call 509-374-4235. They are also meeting people in the parking lot at 1736 E. Seventh Avenue in Kennewick to pick up donations.
