Costco to require customers to wear face masks in stores, including Kennewick
Starting next week if you’re planning to go to the Kennewick Costco, be sure to bring a face mask.
Costco updated its procedures about preventing the spread of the coronavirus this week.
On its website, the company noted that starting Monday, May 4, it will require workers and customers to wear face masks or covering at all times while at the store.
This does not apply to children younger than 2 or to those who are unable to wear a mask or face covering because of a medical condition.
The announcement emphasized that social distancing should still be observed while you’re in the store.
An employee at the Kennewick Costco near on Gage Boulevard confirmed that the face mask requirement applies to all Costco warehouses in the U.S.
“We think cloth face coverings may reduce some additional spread, but, still, the best way to prevent spread of COVID-19 is washing your hands thoroughly and frequently, not touching your face, and staying at home as much as possible,” according to the state health website.
The retailer previously instituted procedures that limited how shoppers enter and leave the store and how they stand in the checkout lines.
