53-year-old dies after tractor rolls in Franklin County orchard
A 53-year-old Pasco man died in a Franklin County field after his tractor rolled Wednesday afternoon.
Jaime Alcaraz-Guizar was working near Eltopia West Road when he lost control of the tractor in a orchard around 3:30 p.m., the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said.
He was pinned underneath the machine and had died before he could be found.
No autopsy is scheduled, though Coroner Curtis McGary said there would be a blood test.
Alcaraz Guizar lived in the Tri-Cities for more than two decades and worked as an agricultural laborer.
“This sad situation is another reminder that our farming community makes great sacrifices to give us many of the conveniences we enjoy as a society and will likely be part of the backbone that gets us through these rough times,” the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said.
