Tri-City man killed by semi on Highway 395 in south Kennewick

A 46-year-old Kennewick man was hit and killed by a semi-truck on Highway 395 in south Kennewick Sunday morning.

Jeremie J. Mills died before he could be taken to a hospital, said Nicole Lee, Benton County deputy coroner.

The Washington State Patrol said Mills was walking south along the highway and the truck was also headed south when Mills walked into the semi truck and trailer at 11:36 a.m.

The collision was near Plaza Way near Southridge High School and Trios Southridge Hospital. The southbound lanes were closed for about an hour, said the state Department of Transportation.

Truck driver Eric S. Questad of Kennewick was not injured, said the WSP.
