Sunken tugboat raised from the Columbia River

The Nova tugboat that sank in the Columbia River near Umatilla, Ore., upstream from McNary Dam in a windstorm Sunday night was lifted out of the river with a crane on Thursday. It was loaded onto a barge headed to a shipyard in Vancouver, Wash., for repairs. A light oily sheen on the river was being cleaned up but tanks holding 750 gallons of diesel remained intact, said officials. No crew was on board when the boat slipped from its moorings in winds up to 50 mph and was blown upriver until it sank.
