Counselors brought in to help students and staff with Finley high school student’s death
Counselors and a crisis response team were brought into River View High School on Tuesday to help students and staff handle the death of a Finley student.
The 16-year-old died by suicide at home on Monday, said Benton County Coroner Bill Leach.
Leach said it was the fourth suicide this year, and one of two during the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend.
Counselors, clergy and the Educational Service District 123 crisis response team will remain available for anyone needing help in the 300-student school, said Superintendent Lance Hahn. He said his death has been a tough loss for everyone.
Anyone needing help is encouraged to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255.
