A Tri-Cities nursing assistant is accused of neglecting a vulnerable adult
The Washington state Department of Social and Health Services has placed Sandra Lynn Butler, who has worked in the Pasco area, on its long-term-care abuse and neglect registry.
The agency alleges she neglected a vulnerable adult.
DSHS has barred her from being employed in caring for or having unsupervised access to vulnerable adults.
Vulnerable adults include people who have a developmental disability, who are over 60 and cannot care for themselves, who have been admitted to a care facility or who receive home health services or aid.
The state Department of Health responded by charging her with unprofessional conduct and suspending her credential to practice as a certified nursing assistant until proceedings are concluded.
